About Me
In my current incarnation I spend time building Pandora and making it profitable while web commuting from Appleton, Wisconsin. Pandora fills my days, being a father and husband takes up the rest. Everything left over is split between hacking Rachmaninoff and noodling around here.
But the sum of me includes more than what I’m doing right now. So how would I summarize myself? Something like: a few cups Entrepreneur, Engineer, Musician, Architect, Director, and Web Commuter, mixed with dashes of San Francisco, the Dot-Com Boom, Technology, UI, and the Midwest. In short, I thrive on building cool technology and successful companies.
This blog (like so many others) doesn’t receive its author’s attention as much as it deserves. But when I’m here, I’m determined to accomplish 3 things:
- Learn and grow personally and professionally. (Some would call this “professional development.” I like to call it “tinkering and experimentation.”)
- Figure out “the direction of things,” and how best to capitalize on that. (aka: decide what I want to be when I grow up.)
- Make connections with neat and interesting people. (I’m accessible and open to discussion about…whatever. Just drop me an email at neilmix via gmail.)
During this journey I occasionally write ideas out in the form of software. If noodling through source code floats your boat, be sure to check out my projects page.
